Paula Jane Radcliffe,( born on 17December 1973 in Davenham, Cheshire, England) is a British long- distance runner and currently holds several world records. Radcliffe's distinctive ''nodding''action while running hase made her instantly recognisable to British viewers. In 2002, Radcliffe was voted BBC Sports personality of the Year and was awarded an MBE.
In 2002, She made the move up to the marathon, a decision that immediately paid off with victory at her debut in that year's London Marathon on 14 April 2002 in a world's best time for a women's only race (2:18:55) Her time was the second quickest in women's marathon history behind the world record of 2:18:47 set by Catherina Nereba, of Kenya, in Chicago.Later that year, Radcliffe set a world record time of 2:17:18 in the Chicago Marathon on 13 October 2002, breaking the previous record by a minute and a half.

Chicago would make a good Olympic host city

Chicago has a good TV presence so if there's one thing to be learned from Atlanta's success it's to promote that. Also, it's in the central time zone, making it ideal for nationwide TV viewing. Traveling challenges were the deciding factor in the NYC bid. Chicago has a good transit system and there are two major airports nearby and some other airports not much farther. But NYC also boasts a decent transit system and more than two airports in the area so the Windy City will need to find a way to set themselves apart from the Big Apple. Brazil, one of the countries Chicago's competing against, currently has restrictions on tourist visa for Americans -- mainly because the U.S. does the same to Brazil. This issue will be a challenge for both countries and it will be interesting to see if Rio and Chicago make it to Round 5 together. That is, if the voting goes that long.Celebs, like President Obama, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps and Oprah Winfrey, all support the bid. In order to garner public support, Mayor Richard Daley promised that city and state taxes would not fund the event. Federal money would pay for security and infrastructure and the private sector would take care of the rest.As far as venues go, there isn't an Olympic stadium yet but the city currently features Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, Allstate Arena, the Sears Centre, the United Center, U.S. Cellular Field, Toyota Park and not to mention all the facilities at the many universities in the area.Chicago was able to pull off the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition against a host of obstacles. They can probably pull off an Olympic event pretty easily. So it'll all be up to the Committee.

Chicago could make a good Olympic host city.

There is no doubt that Chicago is a great city and that it’s got plenty to offer. Hosting the 2016 Olympics would finally give Chicago some of the recognition it deserves.

The tourists that would inevitably flock to the city before, during and after would be a significant boost to the city’s economy. The hotels would see increases as well as local businesses, tourist attractions and restaurants.

Relatively it’s difficult finding a job in the current economy. I’d hope that by 2016 things would be different. Hosting the Olympics in Chicago would create jobs for many people. A job splurge could occur because there would need to be more tour guides for all of the visiting people, more vendors and probably more employees at the businesses near the Olympic Stadium.

Asafa Powell C.D (born November 23, 1982) is a Jamaican sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres. He held the 100 m world record between June 2005 and May 2008, with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds respectively. My Favorite Olympian

One of the BIR Legend Tessa myself is going to write about olympic legend swimmer Michael Phelps.

Micheal Fred Phelp was born in june 30, 1985. He was born in Maryland and graduated from Towson high school in 2003. Phelphs started swimming at age of seven and at the age of 10 held a national record for his age group. More age records followed and at age the of 15 he qualified for the 2000Summer Olympics. In November 2004 at the age of 19 he was arrested for DUI in Maryland. He pleaded guilty to driving while impaired the following month and was granted probation before judgement and ordered to serve 18 months probation, fined $250. and had to speak high school students about drinking and driving and had to attend Mothers Against Drunk Driving ( MADD). In Octorber 2007 he slipped on a patch of ice and fell while climbing into the friends car and broke his right wrist. For a few weeks after the surgery, he was confined to kicking in the pool with a kickboard while his teammates swam. Between 2004-2008 he attend teh University of Michigan in Arrbor, Michigan. He is also an American professional swimmer and he has won 14 gold medals. He holds eight world records in swimming. He has made an estimated 5 million per year in endorsements, including an estimated 1 million dollar to be the face of Mazda in China. On December 2008, Tv Guide reported that Pheplps, selection as one of America's top ten fascinating people of 2008 for a Barbara Walters ABC Tv program that aired on December 4, 2008.
